  18.       there    are few    users and little disk space, but where a large
  19.       number of groups is desired.

  22.       itself, to detect what newsgroups the    users read, and    to
  23.       require no manual manual maitenance.

  46.       thread when no postings in it    have been accessed in N    days,
  47.       where    N is configurable, and the oldest article in the
  48.       thread is older than N days.

  50.       It would be nice if tttteeeexxxxppppiiiirrrreeee could figure out N itself, for
  51.       instance by deleting until X MB space    is free, but it    is a
  52.       bit hard to find the amount of free disk space portably.
  53.       That policy also implies that    news should use    whatever disk
  54.       space    is left    over by    other uses, which is IMHO a bad
  55.       policy, because the news service's quality will degrade as
  56.       other    uses need more and more    space, _w_i_t_h_o_u_t _a_n_y _c_o_n_s_c_i_o_u_s
